Description: Collection of all files relating to the support of the poor in Rappahannock county.Two Poor Farms were at one time situated in the county. The earliest one near the village of Flint Hill was opened in 1837 on land bought from John Finnell by the Commissioners of Rappahannock. This Poor Farm was later closed and the 100 acre property was sold to Gabriel and Charles Dulin in 1873. Land for a second Poor Farm was purchased in 1871 near Sperryville.
