Will of Joseph Fogg

Identifier: 2017.1.160
Description:
Will of Joseph Fogg written in 1781 and its codicil written in 1786. The land and plantation on which he lived was left to his wife Mary during her lifetime, with some slaves left to his children and a tract of land in King and Queen County left to three of his sons. The will was amended in 1786 to leave land he had purchased of John Late to his son Frederick and to change his bequest to his grandson William Upshaw Fogg, leaving him 20 lbs. as he had sold the slave Pegg he had previously willed to him.
