Description: James Fountain, a teacher at RCES from its opening in 1968 started teaching in Rappahannock County in 1965. He taught first for two years at the Amissville Graded School before the public schools were integrated. He then taught for one year at Sperryville Elementary. When the consolidated elementary school opened in 1969 he began his career there which ended with his retirement after the 1990-91 school year.
