Description: Obituary of Samuel Ficklin, son of James Strother and Vallie Davenport Ficklin. He was born in 1923. After serving in the navy in WWII, he worked for years as a machinist at the bureau of Engraving and Printing. He also worked part time as a butler at the White House, where his brother was the maitre d'hotel. Mr. Ficklin died in 2000 leaving his wife Sadie Johnson Ficklin and one son.
