Description: Transcription of 1950 Rappahannock News article on the history of Washington High School. The school was built in 1908. It originally offered four years of Latin, four of math, four of English, two of history, and two of science. The principal was paid $100 a month, teachers $40 a month. There were orchards on Mt. Salem Ave at the time, the houses being built later.
