Description: News taken from the Blue Ridge Guide and published in the Fauquier Democrat in October of 1918. The Washington High School being closed, two Fauquier teachers had returned to their homes in Remington and Warrenton. Mrs. J. Hill O'Bannon (Bertha Miller O'Bannon) had died of pneumonia following a bout of influenza, one of the many who died of this disease at that time. French Carter also died of the same illness at Camp Humphries.
