Description: A longstanding feud between Lemuel Jenkins and "Lum" Dodd over the origins of the name Hazel Mountain led to a stabbing in July of 1929. Both Mr. Jenkins and Mr. Dodd lived on the mountain. Mr. Jenkins averred that the name came from the large quantity of hazel nuts growing on the mountain, while Mr. Dodd claimed the mountain was named for his ancestor, Hazel Dodd.
