The account was given by ninety-one year old Aylette Hawes Buckner Jr. who repeated what was told to him by his father Aylette Sr. Ayletter Sr. was the son of John S. & Lucy Gibson Buckner. In the 1860 census John S. had real estate valued at $30,000.00 and personal property valued at $12, 450.00.
