Description: Letter from the Assistant Director of the General Services Administration, Richard Maxwell, to Ray T. Cannon, postmaster at the Castleton Post Office. The date given to Mr. Cannon for the formation of the post office was May 7, 1878, but Mr. Maxwell was unable to supply any information regarding the origins of the name Castleton.
