Description: Rappahannock County Records concerning the opening of a road from Flint Hill to Massie's Corner. The road was proposed by Thomas Settle and would go through the lands of Lewis Fossett and Robert and Benjamin Eastham. The proposal stated it was for the "convenience of traveling to Rappahannock Court House, to mill, and to market." This road was the old route 522. Before the opening of this road, travelers could only access the road going to Little Washington by going up present day Ben Venue Road.
