Description: Transcription of the will of John Thornton's will written in 1820. Almost all of his estate was left to his wife to do with as she pleased during her lifetime. A field called Downer's Field and a field called Robinson's field were left to his son George Washington Spotswood Thornton along with six slaves. He left land he held in Madison County to his daughter Frances G. Thornton.
